Immigration Issues

There are a number of ways in which an individual can obtain legal immigration in the U.S. (i.e. become a "green card" holder or "lawful permanent resident"). This material focuses on means which are available to battered immigrant women.

Restraining Orders

The Abuse Prevention Act (Chapter 209A) provides you protection under the law from your spouse, ex-spouse, blood relative, household member, the father of your child and even former household member in any of several circumstances.
