Get Involved - Annual Fund
The Japanese art of paper folding, origami, is centuries old. The crane is one of the most classic folds and is recognized internationally to represent peace. The story of 1,000 cranes originates from a folk legend that says if you fold 1,000 cranes, you will get your wish.
The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence is adapting this time-honored tradition to support our annual fund and to raise awareness to prevent domestic violence and build Asian families and communities. We will be folding 1,000 cranes, each in honor of a person, family, or group who wants to support our wish. Our wish is for a peaceful world without family violence.
To be a sponsor of one of the 1,000 cranes, we are asking for a contribution of $500 or more. Cranes will be recognized for their leadership role, identified on the ATASK website and other promotional materials.
ATASK empowers women to transform their lives, and as represented in ATASK’s new logo, the butterfly embodies rebirth, life and freedom. Each contribution of $100 sponsors one butterfly to be named as an individual, family, or group supporter to our annual fund.
Our hope is that these levels of support will inspire creative fundraising ideas and celebration opportunities for families, groups, small businesses, and schools and will enable a broad range of donors to experience the joy of giving to a vital cause.
