We hope you were able to join us at our 2006 gala. It was amazing to
have Senator Kennedy participate and receive the Leadership in
Advocacy Award. Entertainment provided by teen sax sensation Grace
Kelly and guitarist Adam Larrabee along with an Indian dance
choreographed by Benu Tandon and plate spinner Wang Ju Chen were
performances not to miss. Our Asian festivities included henna tattoos
and Chinese calligraphy. Thank you for your support! Special thanks to
our co-chairs and the Planning Committee and the many volunteers who
put in many hours of hard work that obviously paid off!
Please join us in honoring

The Silk Road Gala is the annual fundraising benefit for the Asian
Task Force Against Domestic Violence (ATASK). It began in 1992 when
the Task Force needed to raise funds to support its Asian women's
shelter, the first and only one in New England. Donations raised
through the gala support the programs of ATASK, a private, non-profit
organization, which provides emergency shelter, a multilingual
hotline, stabilization services, support, and advocacy to over 200
battered Asian families every year. Staff and community members
work together using outreach and education to create an environment of
intolerance towards domestic violence in Asian communities.
Why Get Involved?
Help us reach our goal of raising $450,000 for ATASK! These dollars
sustain programming and the staff needed to effectively provide
services. Get involved by purchasing a sponsorship, individual ticket
or table, donating auction items, or volunteering the day of the
event. Click here for more information.
