24-Hour Multilingual Helpline [617-338-2355]
Our 24-hour multilingual helpline is often the first point of access to our services. Trained staff advocates and volunteers speak a total of 16 Asian languages and dialects including Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisanese, Vietnamese, Khmer, Korean, Japanese, Nepali, Hindi, Bangla, Tagalog, Urdu, Thai, Manipuri, Mien, Indonesian and English. This complements the State’s 800-line which does not offer Asian language capability or cultural sensitivity. Callers to ATASK receive crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, and information about domestic violence and restraining orders. All calls are completely confidential. Callers may be referred to our community-based advocates who can assist with legal advocacy, housing, medical referrals, life skills classes and other services.
