Next Steps
Next Steps Program
The Next Steps Program helps survivors to move beyond their domestic violence experience and focus on their future. Our hope is for every client to achieve long-term independence and stability, but we know that this can involve many decisions and actions over time. We focus on helping current and former clients to lay a foundation for success in the areas of managing money, improving English, exploring jobs, pursuing education, and maintaining wellness. Specific program services adapt to address a diversity of client goals, needs, interests, and experiences, but we currently offer support through the following channels:
- 1:1 Coaching- Personal time with a coach to set goals, answer questions, discuss strengths, and complete tasks together (writing resumes & job apps).
- Webinars-1 hour presentations with interpretation. Topics include: Working in the US, Intro to Banking, Intro to Credit, Healthcare Jobs, Childcare Jobs
- Advocate Support-Advocates can get info on jobs, trainings, career paths, or other resources related to jobs or finances and share with clients who are not ready to meet regularly with a Next Steps coach.
- Scholarships-Up to $1000 to advance financial independence. To qualify, clients must apply and demonstrate that they meet predetermined requirements
In the coming months ATASK will be rolling out new services under the Next Steps umbrella, including brief (under 5 minutes) teaching videos on a variety of employment and financial literacy topics as well as virtual wellness sessions, starting with trauma informed yoga. Stay tuned for more information on these exciting new services!
